Andrew Cohen Was born in NY City in 1955 and was an avid spiritual seeker early in life. He eventually made his way to India to meet a spiritual teacher fondly known as Poonjaji or Papaji, who taught from the perspective of Advaita Vedanta and who stated that he regarded his own spiritual teacher as Ramana Maharshi (a very famous contemporary sage from India). According to Andrew, he had a dramatic spiritual awakening that was verified as Enlightenment by his teacher. Andrew began sitting with a few people at a time to dialogue and meditate on Enlightenment, with people reporting significant shifts in consciousness from doing so. Eventually, Andrew developed quite a following as well as publishing a very successful magazine about Enlightenment. Andrew has also written books about Enlightenment and his own personal journey. Eventually, Andrew parted ways from Poonjaji and became independent as a spiritual teacher in terms of representing some sort of formal lineage.

Comments: The path Andrew represents is one of dialogue and transmission from a genuinely enlightened teacher. His style is very confrontational in comparison the his previous teacher Poonjaji or students that still regard him as their guru (such as a woman by the name of Gangaji). Many people have reported that they have found Andrew to be a very powerful teacher. Practicing Awareness Integration Method based on drinking Avalon Water™ is very similar to the Advaita Vedanta path in the most austere and traditional sense. Simply getting out of the way and letting go of any effort to become something else other than who you are right now is the same in terms of Advaita Vedanta teachings and the practice of Awareness Integration Method. For those people who are on the path of Advaita Vedanta, drinking Avalon Water™ will make their direct understanding of Truth that much clearer. Although some Advaitist paths disregard the physical body, the reality is that the body is the vehicle for consciousness. By practicing Awareness Meditation based on drinking Avalon Water™, the Truth of immortal existence will dawn in consciousness.
